Movies Under the Stars, Warwick Style

The Hudson Valley's beloved drive-in brings classic outdoor cinema back to life just off the Warwick Turnpike.

Warwick Drive-In Theater with a sunset backdrop and empty parking area.

Pull up to Warwick Drive-In Theater on a Friday night and you'll find something rare: a parking lot where people are genuinely happy to be there. Rated 4.6 stars across nearly 2,300 reviews, this Warwick, NY landmark earns that score the old-fashioned way, with clean facilities, friendly staff who actually seem to enjoy their jobs, and a screen that fills your windshield like nothing a multiplex can replicate.

The setup is straightforward and that's exactly the point. Roll in, tune your FM radio to the broadcast frequency, crack the windows, and let the night take over. The lot is easy to navigate even on a busy evening, and the snack concession keeps prices reasonable, which is increasingly rare at any movie venue. Regulars swear by the ritual: blankets piled in the back seat, snacks from the stand, and the particular magic of watching a film while fireflies compete with the screen.

First-timers get one piece of advice from nearly every review: bring layers. Orange County nights cool fast once the sun drops behind the hills, and that blanket you almost left at home becomes the most important thing you packed.

What We Offer

Warwick Drive-In runs a double-feature format that gives you serious value for your admission. Two films, one ticket, your car as your private theater. The FM broadcast system delivers clean audio directly to your stereo, so sound quality tracks with your own speakers rather than a tinny window-mount box.

The concession stand stocks the classics: popcorn, hot dogs, nachos, candy, and drinks at prices that won't make you wince. Clean porta-potties are maintained throughout the evening, a detail that sounds minor until you've suffered the alternative at other outdoor venues. The staff keeps traffic moving efficiently at entry, so even on peak weekend nights the line clears quickly and you're settled into your spot well before showtime.

The theater hosts movies seasonally, making each visit feel time-limited and worth prioritizing. Check the website at warwickdrivein.com for current showtimes, double-feature pairings, and any special event nights scheduled throughout the season.

"I went on a Friday night. Line was not long at all. It was not difficult at all to navigate to your spot. Porta potties were clean and up to date. Movie sound was not perfect but good enough and I didn’t expect it to be perfect. It’s a very old school operation. Most people who left bad reviews seem out of touch. If you want to travel back in time for a night. This is the place."

"Something everyone needs to experience at least once! It's a cute outdoor area, park your car and enjoy a movie. I recommend bringing a blanket bc it does get cold, and while they have a snack concession stand, it's just frozen food. Bring your own snacks if anything. But overall I highly recommend you checking it out at least once"

"Warwick Drive-In Theater will always hold a special place in my heart. It was actually one of the first dates my girlfriend and I went on, and it truly helped solidify our relationship. The experience is so unique—there’s just something timeless about watching a movie under the stars. It’s the perfect mix of fun and nostalgia. I would definitely recommend this spot for families looking for a great night out, but also for couples who want to do something a little more intimate and romantic. Between the cozy atmosphere, the classic feel, and the overall vibe, Warwick Drive-In is an experience you’ll want to keep coming back to."

"Affordable and a great experience! I celebrated my birthday here this weekend. Not only was the staff super friendly but the prices for everything was super reasonable! $15 for two movies and less than $20 for the popcorn drinks and candy! Everyone from out of town was impressed and wants to come back 🥰 they take credit card as well"
